Welcome to ACMM 26

February 16 - 20, 2020

On behalf of the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society and the local organising committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the

26th Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM)
from Sunday 16 February to Thursday 20 February 2020
at the National Convention Centre in Canberra

We are bringing this conference back to Canberra where the first two Australian Electron Microscopy meetings were held in the Shine Dome known then as the “Igloo" in 1968 and 1970. The first meeting was organised by Barry Filshie and the late David Goodchild. The celebration of 50 years of ACMM in September 2018 is testimony to the continuing success of this national conference and provide a solid foundation for the 2020 meeting.

Our conference theme is “2020 Visions in Microscopy” and at the start of this new decade, this conference will be about bringing together colleagues from life sciences and physical sciences and working together towards new visions and goals in microscopy. We are excited about building a strong program for the conference based on advances in electron and light microscopy and microscopy-enabled research in life sciences and physical sciences.

Canberra is the meeting place indeed. Our workshop program will showcase some unique facilities in Australia, including the SHRIMP and CT laboratories at the Australian National University. We hope that this meeting will be the beginning of new ideas and national collaborations targeting great scientific outcomes in Australian microscopy research.

We look forward to welcoming you to ACMM 26!
